The Portland Steam & Vintage Show
17th/18th July 2010

Just a reminder that this year we are dedicating the show to the memory of Ian Norris. the Dog Display team will be appearing this year along with, The Portsmouth Wild West Re-enactment Team, The Portland Second Edition Majorettes and the Nothe Fort Display plus lots of Steam Engines and Vintage/Classic Vehicles, and the usual Craft, Models, Charity, Awning Displays & Trade.
It is hoped that on Friday 16th July 2 Large Steam Engines will steam along Weymouth seafront and on to the show at Portland (Weather Permitting) between 5-00pm 6-00pm.
The charges for the Helicopter are the same as last year Adults £30-00 and Children £25-00
Do not forget the hourly bus service from Weymouth on both days, times will be displayed a couple of days before at the bus stops on route or a timetable is available at the Weymouth or Portland TIC.    
We are still on the lookout for volunteers to help before and during the show, any volunteer’s family will have free admission to the show
We are also looking for  sponsors for various sections to help with the cost of setting up the show

The Portland Steam & Vintage Show
17th/18th July 2010

Southwest Coaches will be running an Hourly bus service both Saturday & Sunday from Weymouth Seafront calling at all stops to Southwell Park. This year Bus Passes will be taken, the timetable is available for download on the website.
We now have 11 Large Steamers and 21 Small Steamers booked in .And I canconfirm the Helicopter will be attending this year and we will print the charge for flights next month.
We are still on the lookout for volunteers to help before and during the show, any volunteers family will have free admission to the show
We are also looking for  sponsors for various sections to help with the cost of setting up the show For details of sponsorship and volunteering and any other details of the show please ring

First of all I would like to say how saddened we all were to hear about the death of Ian Norris. We will be dedicating this year’s show to his memory, Ian was a valued member of the Committee and he will be greatly missed.

The Portland Steam & Vintage Show
17th/18th July 2010

Plans are going ahead for the annual show which will be held at
Southwell Park
;
We have already had a lot of interest from across the country.
The Helicopter has confirmed that it will be attending this year and the return of the Portsmouth Wild West Association, and The Second Edition Majorettes from Portland.   This year Bridgewater Harley Davidson Owners Group will be attending.
We are on the lookout for volunteers to help before and during the show.

Details on Donations to local Charities 2009

THE PORTLAND STEAM & VINTAGE SHOW (2009)

A presentation evening was held at L,n,O,s Bistro on the 19th October to distribute funds from the above show.

A total of £2,000 was divided among 5 organisations.

The Portland Rotary who organize the car parking at the show £1,000
First Contact £250
Dorset Assoc for the Disabled £250
The Samaritians £250
The Portland Centre £250


In the last 11 years the show has donated £34,150,00 to various organizations. The committee would like to thank the owners of Southwell Business Park for the use of their land, all other Companies, Businesses and Individuals for their donations advice and help, Stallholders, Exhibitors, Entertainers etc and of course the general public for their support. And the Committee would also like to thank L,n,O,s for the use of the venue.

Next year’s show dates are the 17th/18th July 2010.

Portland Steam & Vintage Show (2009)

First of all I would like to thank all the Exhibitors for attending the show without you we would not have a show, I apologise for the entertainment on Friday & Saturday night I promise you that it will be a lot better next year.
Plans are already in motion for next year and the dates are 17th/18th July 2010 at the same venue Southwell Park.
Despite the entertainment and the weather I hope that you had a good weekend.
Next year’s application forms will be available  from December I sincerely hope that you will return to see us.I wish you all the very best.
